The Council will play the role of a facilitator for the company, helping the company-affiliated Payment Settlement Research Center to develop new technologies and business models through consultation of IC card, Mobile, T-Commerce and electronic payment business.

Their role will not be limited to an advisory function however; they will maintain constant contact with the research center and actively implement joint research projects.

BC Card President Chang Hyung-Duk said at the ceremony, “The technical knowledge and expertise possessed by the Council members will become an important asset for our payment settlement industry as a whole. I am sure the Advisory Council will be a model for industry-academy cooperation and provide the foundation for BC Card to grow into a global-level payment service provider in the next-generation ubiquitous environment.”
