BC Card has concluded a deal with the Korean Financial Telecommunications and Clearings Institute to allow consumers to pay utility bills online using a credit card, in addition to the existing fund transfer method using the KFTC Giro payment website.
According to the terms of the agreement, BC Card will handle the signing-up of member merchants, merchant management operations, purchase slip processing, and account settlement while KFTC is in charge of building the card payment solution within its Giro website, and of transaction approval operations.
Starting September of this year, BC Card members will be able to pay bills with their credit cards on the same Giro site. In order to expand user base, BC Card plans to give incentives to those member merchants using the Giro service with additional convenient features.
BC Card President Chung Byung-Tae said, “This new service will give our customers more options to pay their bills, while allowing member merchants to manage customer service in a more efficient manner, thereby boosting the Giro receipt ratio and satisfying both customers and merchants.”
