BC Card(CEO Lee, Jong-ho, www.bccard.com) hosted a ceremony to celebrate its 30th anniversary on Friday, 6th April with 300 employees present in the headquarter at Seocho dong, and recognized the long term employed for their long service with the company and invited workers from the affiliated and collaborative companies to award the certificates of appreciation.
BC Card was established as an ‘Association of Bank Credit Cards’ in 1982 to lay the foundation on which the credit card business in Korea can be grown, and constituted its position as one of the major companies in the industry in Korea with following achievements: 41.04 million members, 53.68 million issued cards, 128 trillion KRW for the amount used per year as of 2012.
Moreover, it released ‘BC Global Card’, the Korea-based brand, in April to enable customers to use the card overseas without resorting to the overseas brands like Visa or Master Card; in July, it unveiled Green Card, of which benefits encouraged customers to lead a green life. Also, with the introduction of the next-generation mobile cards corresponding to the standard of Korea and optimized for the mobile settings, it proposed the new standard for mobile cards in Korea and made great strides toward the history of credit card in Korea.
In his speech celebrating a foundation day, CEO Lee, Jong-ho stated that “I would like to express heart-felt gratitude for all the customers who have supported BC Card, the stockholders, the executives and staff from the affiliated and collaborative companies who have worked together with us and showed a steadfast interest and affection for the past 30 years.”
Also, he added that the business model would be suggested for sharing the newly-created values with the participants in the market by processing reforms and the projects of mobile standards, and revitalizing the traditional market we are striving for, etc. He also stressed that innovative development of business and the open platform service should be an unchanging key value to BC Card, which advertises itself as the leader in the payment business that provides the best value to customers.
