BC Card(CEO Lee, Gang-tae, www.bccard.com) revealed on the 6th that it signed MOU with Korea Environmental Industry and Technology Institute and Korea Transportation Safety Authority in an effort to revitalize the service of green transportation point.

Green Transportation Point Service is a kind of eco-friendly service operated by Ministry of Land, Transport and Maritime Affairs in order to minimize the emission of greenhouse gas by preparing the culture in which employs eco-friendly means of transportation such as walking or bicycle-riding, etc.

In the ceremony of agreement, held on the 5th Nov in the head office of Korea Transportation Safety Authority, Kim, Su-hwa, the chief of the main office in BC Card, Yoon, Seung-joon, the director of Korea Environmental Industry and Technology Institute, Jung, Il-young, the chairman of the board of Korea Transportation Safety Authority, and other relevant officials participated and signed MOU to revitalize Green Transportation Point Service.

In the ceremony, Kim, Su-hwa, the chief of the main office of BC Card, mentioned that he was very pleased with providing the new incentives for the eco-friendly life to 7 million members of the card via the establishment of private network and system in sync with Green Transportation Point Service and Green Card, offered by BC Card, and contributing more or less to the reduction of greenhouse gas at the national level. Also, he added that “BC Card will actively cooperate with Korea Environmental Industry and Technology Institute to further strengthen the benefits of Green Card as a way of making the utmost effort to make the card an eco-friendly icon worldwide.”

On a side note, Green Card is the card service released on the 7th 2011 by Ministry of Environment and BC Card to revitalize the eco-friendly life of the people in Korea; Eco-Money Point provided by the service of Green Transportation Point can be deposited and used by any member of Eco-Money and BC Green Card.

This service helps to deposit the points by calculating the distance in which member travels on foot or by bicycle using the application: 20 points per 1 km on foot and 6 points per 1 km by bicycle will be given respectively with the maximum points of 5 thousands in a month.
