In the morning of the 20th, BC Card(CEO Lee, Gang-tae, www.bccard.com) opened the meeting for determination of ‘Customers Information Protection Assuarance’ with all the employees present at the lounge in the basement of the head office, located in Seocho Dong. More than 600 executives and staff, including CEO Lee, Gang-tae, reminded themselves of the magnitude of the leak of customers’ information and made a resolution to put the heavy emphasis on the protection of customers’ information.

The board of directors including CEO Lee, Gang-tae revealed that it would maintain the emergency management system which prioritizes the information security-related issues as well as inspects the security by designating ‘Aegis Week’ at random by each quarter in the future.

All the executives and staff kept the new slogan for information security of BC Card in their mind, which is ‘Customers’ Information is as important as their lives’, wore the relevant badges on their bodies and attached the slogan onto everywhere as long as their business may reach by posting placards and posters, or installing screensavers.

Last week, BC Card launched T/F team for information security that is composed of the employees from the respective headquarters. The T/F team divided the information security problems into the 3 categories, i.e. security policy, executives and staff and people, and system. So, the team is strengthening information security by reviewing everything from scratch.

Up to now, T/F team has derived more than 40 assignments and is currently improving the situation by establishing action plans to be carried out in detail. In the afternoon on the 20th, it is scheduled to invite Professor Lim, Jong-in, the head of a graduate school of Information Protection to the company for the special lecture on information protection. He is the renowned expert in the area of information protection in Korea.

In the lecture that was prepare to increase the security awareness of all the employees in BC Card, there will be opportunities to share a wide range of opinions on △ the direction and measures for strengthening the intra-control in the future, △ the most-up-to-date trend of information protection and the relevant revised acts in 2013, and △ the implication and explanation for cases of information leak.
