BC Card is introducing another discount card with daily-life oriented offers that will hopefully take a weight off consumers’ shoulders in this bad economy.

The second in line for ‘Wishing You Wealth’ (Buja daesaeyo) series, ‘The Oil Card’ provides special offers in gas stations – a merchant group with one of the highest credit card use in the nation.

The main offer is simple, customers receive 120 KRW discount per liter in GS Caltex gas stations if their card bill surpasses 300,000 KRW in the previous. During Sundays and legal holidays (including substitute holidays), the discount rate jumps up to 150 KRW per liter.

Discount is limited to once a day, four times a month and up to 100K won per transaction.
Other than the oil cash back, there are additional offers such as discounts in public transportation (10%), department stores / supermarkets (5%), coffee shops (10%), family restaurants (20%). (Cash back rate only, offers may differ according to additional offers provided by issuing banks)

Hee Sang Kim, Head of Marketing Division, stated, "We have used big data analysis to specifically design ‘The Oil Card’ to fit average car owner’s fueling patterns. Other than gas station offers, it provides diverse useful offers including public transit, shopping and restaurant discounts so that this could become the main card in a customer’s wallet."

‘Wishing You Wealth (Buja daesaeyo) – The Oil Card’ will be available in Daegu Bank, Busan Bank, Kyungnam Bank and Jeju Bank from August 3rd. Other banks such as Gwangju Bank and Jeonbuk bank will initiate issuing in the near future.
