BC Card (President and CEO, Joon Hee Suh, www.bccard.com) signed MOU with Naver (President Sang Hun Kim) and Gangwon Creative Economy Innovation Center (Head of Center, Jong Ho Han) to discover and foster top startup companies on February 8th.

The MOU ceremony was held in BC Card headquarters in Seochodong Seoul and Vice President of BC Card Jong Jin Chae, Vice President of Naver Young Chan Yun, and Head of Gangwon Creative Economy Innovation Center Jong Ho Han were present at this event.

This MOU was signed to foster and support big data startup companies by providing BC Card (Big Data Center)´s card consumption data and Naver (Data Lab)´s search data.

BC Card plans to actively engage in the project by connecting with qualified startup companies, building collaborative relationships to expand data hub business, holding big data start up contests, participating in equities, making investments, and so on.

Jong Jin Chae, VP of BC Card, stated, “It has been difficult for big data startups to build their businesses despite their innovative ideas and technologies because they were not able to acquire high-quality data. BC Card plans to foster, support these top startups and build new business opportunities that are mutually beneficial for both parties.”

Head of Gangwon Creative Economy Innovation Center, Jong Ho Han, stated, “This will be a great opportunity for startups to use private data and realize their ideas. We plan to do our utmost to work together and foster the startup business market.”

BC Card has also been working with more than 10 local governments in Seoul, Gyeong-gi province, Jeju-do, etc to build and develop big data businesses.
