BC Card (CEO and President Lee Mun-hwan, www.bccard.com) announced that it held the Love Sharing Festival together with the 8th Red Meal Car Volunteer Group at the Seoul Metropolitan Food Bank Center in Chang-dong, Dobong-gu, Seoul on March 10.

At the Love Sharing Festival, held under the theme of “Welcoming the Spring,” around 400 people from vulnerable groups including seniors living alone and people with disabilities were invited from the Dobong-gu area in Seoul to be provided ▲ health foods, ▲ five types of staple foods (rice, sesame seed oil, instant noodles, etc.) and ▲ other supplies (body wash and lotion, shopping carrier).

Since 2009, BC Card has been using the Red Meal Car and Mobile Food Market donated to the social welfare institutes to host the Love Sharing Festival to help the marginalized classes. At the recent event, some 130 volunteers from the 8th BC Card Red Meal Car Volunteer Group and KT Group came to participate, under the joint supervision of KT Group Hope Sharing Foundation and Seoul Council on Social Welfare.

The 8th BC Card Red Meal Car Volunteer Group is comprised of volunteers from diverse backgrounds and age groups including college students, housewives and working professionals chosen from 7 regions across the country (Seoul, Incheon, Daegu, Ulsan, Gwangju, Yeosu, Gimhae). The volunteer group had a launch ceremony on March 9, and began their volunteer activities at the recent Love Sharing Festival. They will be playing pivotal roles in the Red Meal Car’s free meal services nationwide in the first half of this year. Of particular note, starting with the 8th volunteer group, some of the executives and employees of KT Group will also serve as mentors, providing support to the volunteer group.

Choi Seog Jin (Senior Managing Director), the Director of BC Card Communications Office, said, “BC Card has been engaging in social contribution activities through the Red Meal Car to promote the basic livelihoods of the vulnerable classes since 2005. […] We will continue to share love and hope with our neighbors in need, together with our Red Meal Car Volunteer Group and KT Group.”
