BC Card expands into the digital payment business in Vietnam
BC Card (Mun-whan Lee, Presidentand CEO, www.bccard.com) entered into an MOU with Lien Viet Post Bank to pursue digitalization of payment platform in Vietnam. Lien Viet Post Bank has the largest number of branches in Vietnam and has exclusive ownership of the post office network in Vietnam. The ceremony for the signing of the MOU regarding the project for digitalization of payment platform in Vietnam was executed at the headquarters of Lien Viet Post Bank situated in Hanoi, Vietnam at 4PM on the 12th (local time) in the presence of key interested parties, including Mr. Mun-whan Lee, President of BC Card, and Mr. Nguyen Dinh Thang, Chairman of Lien Viet Post Bank. Through the signing of this MOU, BC Card will continue to expand collaborative works in a diverse range of mid-to-long-term business projects including ▲ development of customized credit card products and services,▲ establishment of a convenient payment digital platform through utilization of QR, etc., and ▲ joint investment and cooperation for digitalization of banks and payment businesses, etc. being pursued by Lien Viet Post Bank. Mr. Mun-whan Lee, the President of BC Card, stated that, "we have the opportunity to take a further step toward expansion of our payment business into Vietnam through execution of this MOU with Lien Viet Post Bank, which is equipped with unparalleled infrastructure in Vietnam," and that, "BC Card will be making contributions toward the advancement of the payment market in Vietnam by utilizing the payment solution and platform as well as the experience in optimization of bank card business that our company has." Mr. Nguyen Dinh Thang, the Chairman of Lien Viet Post Bank, also expressed an expectation that, "Payment solutions and knowledge of BC Card will play a major role in the advancement of services and expansion of businesses being pursued by the Lien Viet Post Bank." Meanwhile, BC Card has been pursuing collaborative works with institutions engaged in payment businesses in a diverse range of countries including Indonesia (Bank Mandiri), Vietnam (NAPAS), and India (NPCI) , etc. since 2011 for expansion of business into overseas countries. |
