BC Card (CEO Lee Moon-hwan) said on Dec. 3rd that they signed a business agreement with the Education Ministry to establish the next-generation school accounting management system "K-Edufine Electronic Financial Services".

The "K-Edufine" is a next-generation school accounting management system scheduled to be used in 17 provincial and municipal education offices and affiliated school institutions across the country, and public and private kindergartens, which will be fully open in January next year. With the upgraded version of the existing system "Edufine," the range of use institutions will be expanded to state-run and private kindergartens as well as elementary, middle and high schools nationwide.

The signing ceremony, which took place at the Sejong Government Complex on Dec. 3rd, was attended by key officials, including Seol Sei-hoon director of education and welfare policy bureau at the Education Ministry, Lee Kang-bok head of local education finance department at the Education Ministry, Jang Gil-dong head of BC Card Marketing Division and Nam Young-soo, Vice President of NH Nonghyup Bank.

BC Card has been issuing "Education Love Card" since 2008 that are used by educational institutions and faculty members. BC Card has been also in charge of transmitting the payment details to the "Edufine" system in order to enhance the efficiency and transparency of the education budget execution.

BC Card plans to support the Education Ministry to ensure the successful establishment of the "K-Edufine". Beyond existing functions that were only transmitting payment details of credit cards, they will push to upgrade existing system so that educational institutions can issue non-face-to-face credit cards online and check payment limits and remaining points in real-time.

In particular, the expansion of online card issuance and electronic evidence is expected to greatly increase the convenience of accounting by municipal and provincial education offices and educational institutions nationwide.

"We are pleased to contribute to the 'K-Edufine' project that will increase efficiency and transparency in implementing the education budget," said Jang Gil-Dong, head of BC Card's Marketing Division. "BC Card will actively support the successful opening of the 'K-Edufine' system and initial stabilization of the system."

Meanwhile, BC Card has been actively participating in public projects promoted by the government since 2008, including a "Child Welfare Card"(payment of child care fees at children's homes), "Voucher for Lifelong Education" provided by the government, and a credit card payment service for elementary, middle and high school education.
