'paybooc QR payment' is now available in the military
BC Card, with the IBK Industrial Bank of Korea and the Armed Forces Welfare Group, applies the 'paybooc QR Payment' service to the canteen (PX) in the Army, Navy and Air Force units in South Korea. In the future, military personnel will be able to enjoy the convenience of simple payment services within the unit as well as the various benefits of BC Card. In advance, BC Card had actively pushed for the application of QR payment services as the use of smartphones in the unit was activated so that soldiers could use PX without cash or physical cards. They are currently piloting some PXs and plan to apply them to all 2,200 PXs through continuous service upgrading and infrastructure maintenance. The way to use the service is simple. First, soldiers install the paybooc, an app for BC Card's simple payment on their smartphones and register their IBK Nara Love Card. In addition to the IBK Nara Love Card, other BC Card products used previously are also applicable. Afterwards, they select BC Card that they want to pay for, such as IBK Nara Love Card, and generate QR code. The payment is completed when the generated QR code is scanned with the reader placed on the PX counter. Not only soldiers but also professional soldiers such as officers and non-commissioned officers and ordinary people who visit their units can pay via QR code if they have a paybooc app installed on their smartphones. According to Chang Gil Dong, head of BC Card's Marketing Division, "We expect that soldiers will be able to enjoy various benefits of BC Card as well as ease of payment through the QR payment service of BC Card. We will continue to upgrade the 'paybooc QR payment' service so that soldiers can enjoy more convenient and beneficial leisure time." |
