BC Card announced that its new president Lee Dong-myun officially took office through a shareholders' meeting at the headquarters in Seoul.

Lee started his work without an inauguration ceremony, and through his in-house messages he announced three key management policies: ▲ Strengthening the competitiveness of the main business, ▲ actively exploring new businesses, and ▲ Strengthening the digital capabilities.

Regarding competitiveness in the main business, Lee said, "We need to become the top in payment processing based on the highest quality, cost efficiency, and trust in the industry" and called for strengthening relevant capabilities. This means that entire company need to be agile so that they can efficiently and timely support businesses of client companies such as payment service providers.

In particular, BC Card successfully introduced the latest next-generation system this year, establishing an environment where it can respond to customer needs most quickly.

For the new business, Lee called for expanding global business and strengthening marketing platform.

BC Card was previously the first Korean financial company to export its payment source technology to Indonesia. It is then actively pursuing global projects in Vietnam such as creating a "cashless social infrastructure" and transferring knowledge of digital payment platforms.

Strengthening marketing platform means upgrading it so that they can provide benefits through 'paybooc' platform that customers and merchants can actually feel.

Regarding digital capabilities, Lee stressed that Big Data and Artificial Intelligence(AI) are core technologies to step forward to the "Smart BC" so entire company should concentrate whole capabilities.

BC Card has the ability to analyze big data related in various areas such as finance, government agencies, distribution and commercial industry, enabling customized customer service, marketing promotion and product development based on Big Data. The company plans to further strengthen its competitiveness in the digital sector by actively utilizing AI.

"BC Card has a variety of successful experiences based on payment processing capabilities," Lee said. "With the challenge added to this capacity, we will be able to create a 'BC Way' that leads to change".
