BC Card becomes the first card company to implement blockchain technology throughout its voucher system for VIP customers.

The existing VIP voucher system not only issued physical vouchers, but also human and physical processes such as data transmission and verification were essential. However, BC Card linked its computer system, customers, and affiliated stores to blockchain and streamlined processes ranging from voucher issuance to use and settlement through application programming interface (API).

Thanks to this, VIP customers can immediately issue and use vouchers through BC Card's comprehensive financial platform, "paybooc". Affiliate merchants can inquire and settle daily voucher sales in real time through exclusive application. The headquarters of affiliated merchants can also check and settle monthly voucher sales in real time through BC Card's merchant solution, "Wise Biz".

BC Card has applied blockchain technology to 15 VIP vouchers so far, and plans to gradually implement blockchain technology to the rest of VIP vouchers and other VIP card-only services.

Meanwhile, BC Card explained that it had a synergy effect with Korea Telecom(KT) in the process of upgrading its VIP voucher system.

In August last year, BC Card first implemented its affiliate settlement system through blockchain in cooperation with KT. Based on the technology and know-how accumulated through cooperation with KT, BC Card explained that it was possible to develop its own blockchain customization in the process of upgrading.
