Title On the 1st anniversary since his appointment as the CEO of BC Card, Lee, Gang-tae said the company will "take the lead in the era of Credit Card 3.0 by mobile leadership”. Date 2013.08.26

On the 26th, the first anniversary since his career as the CEO of BC Card(www.bccard.com), Lee, Gang-tae declared the first year in BC Card when it would take a leading role in the age of credit card 3.0 on the basis of mobile leadership in the press conference in Korea Press Center at the Gwanghwamun Gate.

 

‘The age of credit card 1.0’ was the time when it was merely the means by which to substitute for payment by cash; we are currently living in the age of credit card 2.0, when credit card and cash vie for their share in terms of each and every product and service. With the abrupt change of mobile settings including smart phones, etc., the age of credit card 3.0 has emerged when the most optimal real-time service is offered to customers. Such service ranges from the issuance of cards to the use and benefits: the shift of paradigm in the card business. So, BC card proclaimed that it would drive the transfer to the age of credit card 3.0 as such.

 

In the press conference this day, Lee, Gang-tae released the major achievements for a year since his career as a new CEO, which are △ the growth into the leader of mobile cards within the shortest period of time △ the success of Green Card and Global Card, and △ the on-going expansion of new clients, etc.

 

Also, he explained that the prospective major projects such as △ to develop customer service that can be provided in the mobile settings, △ to carry forward the business of purchase specialized for mid- and small-sized member stores and △ to expand the processing business to the foreign market, which are what only BC Card can do as a key service provider for developing the card industry in Korea.

 

In addition, BC Card, which has concentrated on the continuous social contribution such as the operation of Red Catering Car and the support to learnfare to the youth, etc., revealed its intention to strengthen the activities for social contribution in collaboration with its parent company KT. They are considering expanding the number of recruits, currently only as many as 10 % of the total number of employees per year, by focusing on the creation of job opportunities on the basis of the new businesses like mobile cards, etc. and the achievements in the business incidental to main ones.

 

In the conference, the chairman of the board also clarified its plan to reestablish the company as the super-excellent card company in Korea so as to live up to its brand value by concentrating on promoting the achievements by management in raising the sales from 3.1 trillion KRW in the last year to 3.8 trillion KRW in 2015.
